Yes. We prep your slab with moisture barriers to prevent water damage from our coastal humidity and seasonal rains. Without proper barrier installation, moisture wicks up and damages hardwood or laminate within months.
What's the best flooring for San Diego's climate?
Tile and luxury vinyl plank (LVP) handle our humidity and temperature swings better than solid hardwood. If you want hardwood, we install engineered planks with moisture barriers — they're more stable than solid wood in coastal areas.
How do you handle transitions between different flooring types?
We create seamless transitions using matching trim and T-molding so you don't have gaps or trip hazards. Each material expands differently in our humidity, so we account for that movement when we install.
How long does a typical flooring installation take?
Hardwood or tile in a 400-square-foot room takes 3-5 days, including subfloor prep and acclimation time. LVP is fastest at 1-2 days. We give you a firm timeline before we start.
